Purpose/Summary:
As part of the Trade Management team, the Manager will lead, execute, and support assigned activities in order to ensure financial and operational objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Supports US Military Contract (USC), MHHG contract, POV contract, and similar in the Military vertical, and the service organization process teams to help in addressing cross-functional/cross-process issues and required improvements. Bridges service organization and clients in support of the operational organization
Owns and drives joint initiatives including implementation of process transformational project
Cooperates with customers on cross-functional improvement initiatives
Supports the identification of scope expansion opportunities
Ensures that the Voice of the Customer is captured and shared with the Execution and Customer Service Organization
Delivers high quality forecasting for assigned entities/accounts
Collaborate with team leaders on revenue budgeting and quarterly ROFO processes.
Measure sales performance, sales pipeline, and trending – where are we winning, where are we losing, and why for assigned verticals.
Work with colleagues to ensure broad level understanding and coverage of all departmental responsibilities (Trade Management, Operational Excellence, Pricing, Sales Support)
Supports strategy / development of tariff, market, and contract pricing for a ‘go to market position’
Supports responses to One-Time-Only’s (OTO’s) and development of winning proposals
Builds / Develops relationships with customers (TRANSCOM / SDDC / Port Agents / etc.)
Research / Analyze industry and competitive trends and monitors sales performance for gaps
Performs other position related duties as specified by management as part of a mid-sized team
Position Specifications:
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required, business related degree preferred.
8+ years ocean transportation experience with at least 3-5 years consisting of direct US Government contracting required.
Technical Skills and Competencies Required
Experience with both SDDC, USTRANSCOM and specific programs of the USC and/or MM contracts preferred to include experience within the ocean transportation industry (i.e. Operations, customer service, contracting, etc.).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Must be a U.S. citizen capable of obtaining a security clearance from the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). MLL is a drug-free work environment and requires employees to take random drug tests during their employment with the company.
Travel Requirements: as required, however, this position is domiciled in Dulles, Virginia to support our US Government customer base and work closely with regulatory bodies such as the Department of Transportation, Department of State, General Services Agency, Maritime Administration (MARAD), etc.
