Property Accountant - Growing Management Company

Location : Midtown, New York (Hybrid - 3 days in office)

Our client is a full-service, private real estate investment firm that acquires, develops, and manages a fast-growing portfolio of residential properties throughout New York. Our client is actively interviewing for a detail-oriented Property Accountant to join their dynamic team. Reporting to the CFO, the ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounting for a real estate portfolio, focusing on multifamily entities. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, providing the opportunity to work closely with senior management and gain valuable experience.

Daily responsibilities will include :

• Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including A/P review, cash management, and wire transfers.
• Lead monthly GL close process and prepare work papers, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Generate monthly reporting packages for internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage cash flow projections to meet operational and investor needs.
• Collaborate with the real estate team to develop and maintain annual budgets.
• Review tax returns and ensure alignment with financial records.
• Prepare local and state filings as required.

Qualified candidates for this role will have :

• 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate.
• Strong proficiency in accounting principles and financial analysis.
• Excellent organizational skills with a focus on prioritization and time management.
• Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of Yardi or similar real estate GL systems is preferred

Compensation for this role :

• $90,000 - $110,000 base salary range
