Position Summary:
The Graduate Respiratory Therapist/CRT is responsible for providing a full range of complex respiratory care modalities centralized in the general and all acute care units. Independent clinical judgments and evaluation are required. Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Demonstrates the ability to develop and implement an age appropriate plan of care using assessment and clinical skills in the general patient care units and in the Adult Critical Care units; with the ability to work in the Pediatric and Neonatal intensive care Units.

QualificationsRequirements:
1. A current Respiratory Care Practitioner License by the Texas Medical Board.
2. Graduate of a 1-2 year approved AMA School of Respiratory Care or nontraditional degree program.
3. In lieu of being a graduate, may be a "grandfathered" CRTT.
4. Prefer to be Registry eligible.
5. Prefer 1-2 years-clinical experience.
6. Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the NBRC at date of hire.
7. Must have a current BLS certification through the American Heart Association and maintain throughout employment.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
1. Ability to read, write and converse in English.
2. Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors and others.
3. Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
4. Ability to respond to pages, telephones, and other auditory stimulation.
5. Ability to function when exposed to hazardous chemicals and/or biological materials.
6. Bending and lifting (10-30 lbs minimum), grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing and, pulling prolonged standing and/or sitting. (In conjunction with partner, must be able to lift 200 lbs combined weight if a member of the Neonatal Transport Team.)
7. Ability to discriminate color.
8. Quantitative / mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard and metric measurements).
9. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions.
10. On call when applicable per staffing and scheduling needs.
