DUTIES

• Compute amounts, such as space available, shipping, storage, or demurrage charges, using computer or price list.
• Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.
• Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
• Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.
• Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
• Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
• Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
• Compare shipment contents to records
• Convey cargo by hand truck
• Examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications
• Load, unload, or stack containers, materials, or products
• Maintain records, reports, or files
• Measure, weigh, or count products or materials
• Manage inventories or supplies
• Monitor materials or supplies
• Requisition stock, materials, supplies or equipment

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Benefits
