Job Description

About Us:

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a passionate Software Developer to help in the development of our in-house lightweight CAD viewer framework. This framework is a crucial component, enabling seamless and efficient CAD visualization across multiple in-house web applications. The ideal candidate possesses a strong blend of knowledge on software development, DevOps, database, and a passion for building scalable, high-performance solutions. Any past experience working with Engineering BOM and Manufacturing BOM structures would be a significant advantage.

Responsibilities:
  • Leverage React.js, C#/.Net to develop core functionalities of the viewer’s framework.
  • Design and implement a lightweight, high-performance and secure CAD viewer framework.
  • Integrate the lightweight viewer seamlessly into various web applications, ensuring a consistent user experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure the framework meets diverse user needs

  • Optimize data handling and visualization techniques to maximize performance and responsiveness within the viewer engine constraints

  • Utilize GitLab pipelines to streamline continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes

  • Deploy and manage the framework on AWS infrastructure using Terraform for infrastructure as code

  • Utilize AWS Neptune or similar graph database to efficiently store and query complex relationships within CAD data

  • Employ Gremlin query language to traverse and manipulate graph data in Neptune

  • Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues, ensuring the framework operates seamlessly in production environments.
  • Leveraging C++/EKL, navigate and rearrange engineering and manufacturing data and structures in PLM as it is the main source for the light viewer data.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of software development experience, with a focus on web application development.
  • Understanding of React.js, C#/.Net, C++ and EKL and the concepts.
  • Experience with GitLab pipelines for CI/CD is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge in AWS cloud infrastructure, Terraform, EKS Kubernetes and docker.
  • Familiarity with a customizable CAD viewer engine like Zea Engine or any other tool is desired.
  • Any past experience working with any PLM tool, preferably 3DEXPERIENCE, on Engineering BOM (eBOM) and Manufacturing BOM (mBOM) structures using EKL is advantageous.
  • Knowledge with AWS Neptune, Gremlin, graph databases and Google Protocol Buffers for data serialization is nice to have.
