Tax Preparer
Cape Coral, Florida
$17 - $20 per hour
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Tax Preparer to join my team in Cape Coral, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in individual and small business tax preparation and will assist clients in filing accurate tax returns in compliance with federal and state regulations. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, efficient, and passionate about helping individuals and businesses optimize their tax outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare individual (1040) and business tax returns, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Conduct client interviews to gather necessary financial information and documents.
Ensure clients take advantage of all eligible credits and deductions.
Review financial records such as income statements and documentation of expenditures to determine forms needed to prepare tax returns.
Stay updated on tax law changes and apply them to client situations.
Provide excellent customer service by answering client questions and addressing concerns.
Assist with tax planning and advice to minimize future tax liabilities.
Electronically file tax returns and follow up with clients regarding any required corrections or additional information.
Maintain confidentiality of all client financial information.
Manage and meet multiple deadlines during tax season.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a tax preparer, with a solid understanding of federal and state tax regulations.
Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., TurboTax, Lacerte, Drake, or similar).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients in simple terms.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak tax season.
PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number) required.
CPA or EA (Enrolled Agent) certification is a plus but not required.
