Posting Date: Job Schedule: Locations: Degree Level: Job Description: What We Are Looking For The Assistant Director/Associate Director of Athletic Medicine for Men's and Women Cross Country/Track & Field serves in the Division of Athletics and reports to the Director of Athletic Medicine for Clinical Care. This position is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the medical and rehabilitation programs and needs of student-athletes on the Men's and Women's Cross Country & Track and Field Teams. A Master's Degree is required along with five to eight years of relevant work experience is preferred. National Athletic Training Certification is required. Texas Athletic Training License is required but can be obtained after employment offer is accepted. The start date for this position will be January 6, 2025.
A Master's Degree and five years of experience is required. Eight years of experience is preferred.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. What You Will Do Medical - Provide medical care to student-athletes at practice, training, and competition events. Utilize injury prevention strategies in order to minimize time loss from school and sport. Administer treatment under the supervision of the Director of Athletic Medicine and Team Physician.
Communication - Maintain communication with student-athletes, parents, coaches, team physicians, and administration on progress of student-athletes. Maintain proper documentation as necessary. Work collaboratively with other members of the health and wellness team as well as academic support services in order to best serve the student-athlete.
Operations - Assist in the maintenance and proper use of athletic training facilities in order to create an efficient and safe working environment.
Clinical Education - Assist with the education and oversight of Master of Athletic Training Students. Provide education to student-athletes, coaches, support staff, administrators and parents.
Compliance - Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and institution rules and regulations and to communicate immediately any possible infractions of such rules and regulations to the Athletics Compliance staff.
- Adhere to best practice standards established by the NATA, NCAA CSMAS and similar governing organizations.
Other Duties - Other program duties as requested by the Director of Athletics or the area head. Administrative duties will be assigned per skills and experience.
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.
- Ability to comply with University policies.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
