Shipping & Receiving Clerk |Hobart, IN

Temp-to-Hire Opportunity

Starting Pay: 17

Shift(s): Monday – Friday 7:30 to 4:00pm

This position is responsible for performing the tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.

Requirements & Skills:

High School Diploma or GED (preferred)

· Must be familiar with proper packaging methods

· Reach Truck and Forklift experience (4 years)

· Computer skills (office outlook, excel, UPS and freight) a plus

· 2 or more years of related experience working in similar industry. Good verbal communication skills

· Read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.

· Must have a valid driver’s license.

Primary Duties Include:

Pick and ship customer orders accurately and in the timeframes required

· Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

· Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, identifies damaged items, check shortages, and corresponds with warehouse manager to rectify damages and shortages

· Package finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, banding, labeling).

· Sort and place product in proper rack locations

· Accurate pulling/packing orders for shipping.

· Assist in counting of physical inventory.

· Operate warehouse equipment, including a forklift, picker and reach truck.

· Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for all associates.

· May sweep the warehouse area.

· Perform other general warehouse duties and responsibilities as required.

· Load assembly conveyor with track chain using material handling devices.

· Install track shoes and fastening hardware, snug fasten bolts and track components in position.

· Torque bolts and nuts to requirements using manual and/or electric torque devices.

· Coil wrap and secure finished track group assemblies

· Operate small cranes to transport or position large parts.

· Read and write follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
