Role Summary:

We are seeking a Research Engineer passionate about designing and building next-generation AI models. In this role, you’ll contribute to developing intelligent systems that leverage LLMs for decision-making, planning, and interaction. You’ll be part of a collaborative team exploring uncharted territories in AI to solve dynamic challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement LLM-powered agentic systems for autonomous tasks.
• Research innovative techniques to enhance agent capabilities, reliability, and scalability.
• Define and measure agent performance using advanced evaluation metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate ideas into impactful solutions.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in LLMs and AI.

Qualifications:

• MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of deep learning, natural language processing, and reinforcement learning.
• Proficiency in Python and C++, with experience in prompt engineering.
• Familiarize with LLM models, agent, capabilities, safety concerns, and evaluation methods.
• Practical expertise in multi-agent systems or scalable AI architectures.
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, with a solid ethical understanding of AI development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Publications in top AI conferences or significant contributions to open-source projects.
• Experience designing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems and integrating knowledge graphs with LLMs.
• Proven ability to prototype, iterate, and deliver innovative AI solutions.

Pay Disclosure:

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: 206,000 USD - 258,000 USD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment.
